What is Product Management Portal?

Product Management Portal is one of two modules of the x2xecommerce RMH-Shopify Integration solution; this module deals with uploading products and other aspects related to them. This module serves as an intermediary between RMH and Shopify; the data is first imported into it and then uploaded to Shopify. The Product Management Portal offers the following capabilities

  1. Importing products from RMH

  2. Importing categories from RMH

  3. Syncing categories to products

  4. Creating new categories

  5. Editing product information

  6. Uploading data to Shopify

Other than the functionalities listed above, there’re some other features that are worth mentioning.

Locking products

The module provides a feature to lock the products that stop the RMH from updating the product data in PMP. This feature is useful when you want the information to be different on your RMH and Shopify; you can change the product information on PMP after syncing the PMP and Shopify and then uploading it to Shopify. When lock is enabled the RMH doesn’t change the information on PMP. Similarly, you can also lock the categories in this way.

Customized Mapping

Mapping is the most critical aspect of integration between two solutions; it defines what field will be matched between the two solutions. The x2x solution allows you to customize the mapping, allowing you to match the field between solutions per your integration needs. The solutions allow you to map the following fields

  2. Matrix products

  3. Products_Tags

The mapping feature also allows you to use a default value for the Shopify field instead of any value coming from the RMH; this allows you to populate some fields of Shopify with your desired values, providing flexibility in how your products appear on Shopify.

PMP is a comprehensive solution offering various features to provide convenience to users. Some other features include:

  1. Activity log: It allows you to see the logs of all the activities performed by the PMP along with their status. This provides transparency of operations, helps management track & monitor them, and helps with troubleshooting errors.

  2. Scheduler: This allows you to set time intervals for different operations to carry out on their own after the selected time interval and allows automated syncing of information regularly.
