In x2x Integration, “Parent Item” is the main product having “Child Items” associated with it. This concept is very similar to Main Product having variants, but much aligned with the eCommerce platforms like Shopify. The creation of “Parent Item” is done under the x2x Shopify section.
The end-to-end product integration is achieved by creating a complete product in Business Central and this eCommerce compatible product can easily be uploaded to Shopify. The simple user-friendly steps make it easier to ensure product synchronization on both platforms.
First, select “Parent Items” from x2x Shopify main menu.
Once selected, the lists of all parent items appear. A new parent item can be created by clicking on the “New” option.
Define all the relevant details in an item card. Select options upon which variants are segregated. As Shopify allows three options, our integration also allows defining three options associated with a product to make it fully compatible with an eCommerce platform.
The fields in the Parent Item Card are as follows:
1. No.: You can define the number as desired.
2. Title: It is the product name that appears on the main Shopify store, so make sure this field is populated as such.
3. Description Upload: If this option is enabled then the available data in the description box will be uploaded on the Shopify store once child items are updated/uploaded.
4. Options: Define the options that are relevant to your product.
Once the Parent Items are created, they will all show under the Parent Item List. Assign Child Items with parents to make a complete set of products similar to the Shopify product.
The product is now ready to be uploaded. Once items are uploaded the product will appear in the same format as the Shopify Products.
